Shop 'till you drop!

There's no lack of shopping locations in the Garden City. From the Hip Strip to the Southgate Mall, there's a store for everyone.

Shopping

Missoula isn’t all wilderness and adventure. Hop off the trail and hit the pavement for a little retail therapy – Missoula has more than enough shopping to keep you and your pocketbook busy.

Oh, and if you’re visiting Missoula from out-of-state, or out-of-country, one of the BEST reasons to shop in Missoula and Montana…there’s NO SALES TAX!

Check out our new Missoula Clothing Stores List.

Downtown & The Hip Strip
Centered on Higgins Avenue, Missoula’s tree-lined
downtown streets feature mostly locally-owned shops offering everything from kitchenware to vintage records. During the summer months, you’ll find one of the best farmers’ markets around.

Just on the other side of the bridge lies Missoula’s Hip Strip. Boutiques, restaurants, kids’ shops, a brewery, and more unique local businesses are nestled in this funky and hugely popular neighborhood. If beer, live music, and fashion shows are your thing, check out the Hip Strip Block Party held every summer.

Southgate Mall
Southgate Mall, Western Montana’s premier enclosed shopping destination, features over 100 specialty stores and a top range of well-known brands. Southgate is situated on Brooks Street – one of Missoula’s busiest – which also boasts an array of shopping and restaurants just a stone’s throw away from the mall.

North Reserve Street
The North Reserve corridor is Missoula’s most recent shopping development featuring recognizable restaurants and big box stores. Some of the stores you’ll find along the North Reserve/Highway 93 Business Loop include: Costco, Target, Super Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Best Buy, Staples, REI, Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, Outback Steakhouse, Famous Dave’s BBQ, and a whole lot more.
