America’s Great Outdoors
In October 2011, Fort Missoula Regional Park was selected as a Signature Project of the U.S. Department of the Interior’s America’s Great Outdoors Initiative (AGO.) The AGO Initiative was launched in 2010 to establish a community-based, 21st-century agenda for conservation, recreation and reconnecting Americans to the outdoors. The park was identified as one of the best investments in the nation to support a healthy, active population, conserve wildlife and open space, and create travel, tourism and outdoor-recreation jobs across the country.
