“Blackbeard the Pirate” Day Camp (THEATRE) at MCT

Description: Blackbeard the Pirate with the Missoula Children’s Theatre! MCT day camps will give your star kiddos a full, fun theatrical experience. From audition to rehearsal to adding in makeup, costumes, and of course, the applause after their performances on our stage! Your kids will be singing, dancing and making memories that will last a lifetime. Space is limited, so head on over to MCTinc.org to register. Blackbeard day camp is june 20-24, with performances June 25 or 26. Summer day camps are open to kids entering 1st-12th grade.

Description: For a limited time only, National Theatre Live’s Encore Series brings a selection of award-winning British theatre productions to your local cinema. Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from host of the The Late Late Show, James Corden, the uproarious One Man, Two Guvnors was a runaway hit both in London’s West End and on Broadway. Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect 6,000 from his fiancee’s dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Holed up at The Cricketers’ Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.

Description: With a wall of sound so thick, the Modern Sons can’t help but captivate their listeners with their own blend of Alternative and Indie Rock music. Each of the four members (Ryan Saul, Casey George, Mitchell Martel, and Dan Haywood) bring their own layer to a ubiquitously sonic ambience in an attempt to cultivate something organic and new. The four have a dynamic in which they are continually pushing each other to explore new territory using a variety of technological complexities. Saul states, “It’s definitely loud rock, but it has distinguishable vocals and intricate melodies”. The band’s influences include Pink Floyd, Spoon, The Vines, Black Keys, Spoon, 311, Band of Horses, and Silversun Pickups. Lyrically, they cover a wide range of themes with one more recent caveat which is writing music about sustainability, social responsibility, consciousness, and living in the moment.
