Missoula Farmers’ Market opens for its 42nd Season this Saturday, May 10, from 8am to 12:30pm. Returning and new vendors of seasonal fruits and vegetables, preserves, breads, pies, flowers, plant starts, canine consumables, and more will welcome customers. Entrances are at the farthest end of North Higgins and North Pattee Streets, in Downtown Missoula.
Buyers will see many familiar faces among the Hmong and Belarusian ethnic farming communities, as well as many other of our regions local small producers. In addition, many sales are expected to derive from the unique variety of distinct recipe creations from vendors such as Tilted Halo (gluten free) pastries, Hindu Hillbilly and Rivulet Apiaries (flavored) honey and many other prepared food vendors.
To find locally grown asparagus, stone-oven baked bread, healthful paleo sweets, flower arrangements, and wildcrafted herbs, customers should ask a Market Assistant or stop by the information booth.
Each Saturday now through the last Saturday in October, the Market will bring a variety of local music acts to entertain. The sounds will charm and slow the pace, while café tables fill with a relaxed crowd of shoppers willing to set themselves adrift on a blue sky day in Missoula. Check out the Missoula Farmers’ Market web site or Facebook page for the music schedule and other market updates.
The market accepts Credit Cards, EBT/SNAP cards and Missoula Downtown Association gift cards. Most produce vendors also accept WIC Program vouchers and Senior Nutrition Program vouchers.
