Montana seniors Kellee Glaus and Jordan Sullivan both became four-time Academic All-Big Sky Conference selections when the league announced its winter all-academic teams last week.
Glaus, the 2013 Big Sky indoor champion in the triple jump and UM indoor record-holder in the event (40-2.75), has a 3.92 grade point average as a biology major. She will become a four-time spring all-academic selection this summer.
Sullivan has a 3.88 GPA as a marketing major. She was voted second-team All-Big Sky by the league’s coaches in March and concluded her career with 129 games played, four more than any other player in Lady Griz history.
After leading the conference with a league-high 58 selections on the fall Academic All-Big Sky Conference teams that were announced in January, Montana had 29 on the winter teams, a total that ranked eighth in the Big Sky.
The Grizzlies had 14 selections from the women’s indoor track and field team, seven from the women’s basketball team, six from the men’s indoor track and field team and two from the men’s basketball team.
Eastern Washington had the most athletes on the winter all-academic teams with 49. Idaho State had 44, Montana State and North Dakota 43, Northern Arizona 41 and Weber State 40.
Northern Colorado led the Big Sky with 11 women’s basketball selections. Eastern Washington and Southern Utah both had a league-high six men’s basketball players honored. Weber State had 27 women’s indoor track and field athletes selected, Idaho State 13 men’s track and field athletes.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Sky Conference teams, student-athletes need to have participated in at least half of their team’s competitions and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2.
