Parks and Recreation hosts Winter Olympics day camp for President’s Day
The fun starts when school’s out! Parks and Recreation’s Adventure Day Camps feature a well-rounded day camp experience that includes games, outdoor activities, special guests and fun field trips. On Monday, February 17, Adventure Day Camp will celebrate the 2014 Winter Olympics with goofy events like the straw javelin throw, sock shotput, paper plate discus toss, three-legged foot race and backward long jump. After lunch, the adventure continues at Currents Aquatics Center, and the day concludes with more active fun, Olympic-themed games and a closing ceremony.
Camp meets Monday, February 17, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Parks and Recreation’s Sports & Wellness Center, 1515 Fairview. The camp is open to kids ages 6 to 12 and the fee is $35, or $28 with the CityCard resident discount. Camper-to-staff ratio is 10 to 1, each camp hosts up to 30 campers. Smaller group sizes and lower child- to-staff ratios will greatly enhance your child’s camp experience. Scholarships are available, stop by Currents Aquatics Center for more information. The next Adventure Day Camps meet weekdays, March 28 through April 4. Call 721-PARK to register, or stop by Currents Aquatics Center in McCormick Park. Learn more at www.missoulaparks.org.
