QUOTING GRIZ HEAD COACH WAYNE TINKLE:

ON PSU: “It’s nice to be back home.  We’ve been on the road for awhile, and we need to get things cranked up here in the second half of our conference season.  We’ve got six of our 10 (remaining regular-season league games) right here.  We did a nice job of going out and getting some wins on the road to make up for some of our early losses.

“Portland State is riding a pretty high wave right now.  They’re playing with a lot of confidence with four wins in a row.  They’ve got a lot of talent.  They really look to spread you out, and they have a lot of guys who can score – so it’s going to be a challenge.

“They’re going to shoot threes; and they like to drive and kick to their shooters or drop the ball to their bigs.  They also like to drive, get fouled, and then go to the line.  We’ve got to contain penetration and get into their shooters, and also rebound the ball.”

ON THE GRIZ: “We’re building and getting better from week-to-week.  We’re the only team in the league that has won three road games so far in conference.  Now we’ve got to take that same mentality and not slip up because we are at home.  We have to stay focused and hungry, and we’re looking forward to hopefully having success here at home on Thursday night, and again  hopefully on Saturday.”
