What’s Up This Week in Downtown Missoula

Treasure State Shred Fest – Saturday, October 26 from 4-11pm at Caras Park

The 3rd annual Treasure State Shred Fest will take place at Caras Park this weekend with snow from Missoula Glacier Ice Rink, a rail jam competition, and music by DJ Coma.  Entry is free to the public, and there is only a $25 fee for riders wanting to compete.  Kids can try snowboarding at the Riglet snow park from 4-6pm, and the rail jam is 7-9 pm. Once snowboarding sessions are finished, prizes will be given out to the top riders and raffle prizes to the public. An after party at the Badlander is slated for 11pm-2am.

LAST Weekend for  Saturday Markets – October 26, 8am-1pm

This Saturday is the final Clark Fork River Market and Missoula Farmers’ Market for the season.  Head Downtown one more time this season to stock up on local produce, meats, and treats.  These markets will return in May 2014 along with the Missoula Saturday Art and Craft Market. The MDA thanks the market masters, the markets’ board members, and dedicated vendors for bringing such great local flavor to our downtown each year.

Clark Fork Coalition River Cleanup – Tuesday, October 22, 4:30-6pm along the river

The Clark Fork Coalition and Poverello Center will host a fall river cleanup along the River Trail in Downtown Missoula as part of the organization’s  “Walk and Talks” learning series. The cleanup provides an opportunity for citizens to remove the trash that has gathered along the river.  The event is free and open to the public, and participants should meet at the Madison Street pedestrian bridge at 4:30pm.  Once there, they will receive bags and gloves before proceeding to pick up trash and recycling from the river. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn more about both CFC and the Poverello Center at outreach tables.
