Skier Glen Plake and His Mohawk Come to Discovery Ski Area
Infamous for pioneering extreme skiing and his trademark mohawk, Glen Plake will demo Elan’s 2014-model skis and shred with locals on Monday, January 14, from 12:30 – 3 p.m. at Discovery Ski Area near Philipsburg, Montana. Plake’s visit is part of a multistate tour with Elan.
“Discovery Ski Area is ecstatic to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Montanans to meet and ski with the legendary Glen Plake,” said Ciche Pitcher, Discovery’s vice president of operations.

Plake is a three-time world champion in free skiing, recognizable for his colorful mohawk and remarkable display of skills in films, including “The Blizzard of Aahhhs,” “Steep,” and several Warren Miller productions.
Since 2006, Plake has been sponsored by Elan, the Slovenia-based ski company recently recognized as the Most Innovative Brand 2012 by Plus X Award.
