MCT is proud to announce that on Sunday, February 20th from 1-4PM there will be an audition for the final entree of the 2021-2022 Missoula Community Theatre’s à la carte season. The show’s director is Heather Adams, and Paisley Thornton will be the choreographer. It’s a story of hope, joy and overcoming adversity when we all work together, and the hero of the story is……..a “sea sponge.” MCT presents nickelodeon The SpongeBob Musical, an exciting and visually spectacular show, with a three-week run. Performances are scheduled for April 28-May 1, May 6-8 and 13-15, 2022, at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts. Adapted from the iconic nickelodeon series SpongeBob SquarePants, this unique production includes a music score loaded with original music by Sara Bareilles, Steven Tyler, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, Plain White T’s and many more talented artists, for which MCT plans to bring back a live orchestra. The production is appropriate for all ages to enjoy.
Please use the main street entrance and proceed to the 3rd floor. The audition is open for ages 18 and older and all are open to any gender. The process involves singing, movement/dance and reading from the script; no advance preparation is necessary. Call-backs will be later that day. The cast of approximately 16 includes six principal leads and a colorful, versatile ensemble of characters, from Sea Anemones, Cowboy Fish, Girl Fish Trio, Hip Hop dancers, and Sardines–just about every creature found under the sea!
There are no perusal scripts available at MCT, but there is much to be learned online in order to get familiar with the material. For more information about auditioning for a Missoula Community Theatre production, visit https://mctinc.org/audition/.
