It’s time to light up Higgins Avenue for the Reverse Parade of Lights and Holiday Stroll on December 4 from 4-8pm! The 19th Annual Parade of Lights will look a little different this year while still bringing holiday cheer Downtown. Due to COVID-19’s high impacts on local hospitals, the Missoula Downtown Association (MDA) has again pivoted to a Reverse parade, this time bringing the bright lights and holiday cheer Downtown.
The Reverse Parade of Lights & Holiday Stroll, sponsored by Charles Schwab and Dick Anderson Construction, will feature bright floats in parking spaces along both sides of Higgins Ave from Main St to the XXXX’s. Streets will remain open and traffic control officers will be present.
There are several ways to enjoy floats this year. Whether it be from the safety of you car driving on the open streets, on foot from Downtown sidewalks, or streaming on MCAT. Mountain Line will also be providing a lit up electric bus from the Main St Garage approximately every 20 minutes through the reverse parade route.
Plus Santa Claus is coming to town just in time for the Reverse Parade of Lights! Santa will be arriving in Missoula before the kick off of the reverse parade, making a grand entrance on his horse-drawn sleigh at the Missoula Public Library at 1:00pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for phone photos from 1-4pm at the Missoula Public Library. Families are encouraged to get in line early before they head back to the North Pole to prepare for the big day!
