Are you wanting to look your absolute best for the next event you head off to but aren’t sure how you should be taking care of your skin? As a fashionable lady, is your makeup making you get acne and start to look like you have huge pores?
For the fashionista, skincare is as important as clothing and accessories. We’re not talking about a bottle of face wash here and a tub of moisturiser there–we mean products that actually work to make your skin feel clean, and healthy, and look as radiant as ever.
More than this, you need to know what tips work best and how to maintain your healthy skin. If you need help with you skincare routine, here are some of the best tips for you to follow.
Don’t use too many products
As a fashionable lady you might be tempted to use every product under the sun because that’s what you see all over the internet, with people using multiple cleansers, toners, serums, and more. And while this may all look fantastic and look like it does well for other people’s skin, you should be careful about using too many different products in your skincare routine according to Misumi Skincare, especially if you are not familiar with the ingredients, because they may end up doing more harm than good.
A good basic skins care routine should include a cleanser, an exfoliator, a toner, a SPF, and a moisturiser. If you start using too many products you could end up stripping too many of the natural oils from your skin leaving it extremely dry, or completely opposite that—you end up with overly oily skin and a bad breakout.
Remember to moisturise and use sunscreen
A lot of people, when they first begin their skin care routine or getting into the habit of it, really like that sensation after they have washed their face and it feels super tight. While this may make you feel youthful and good about yourself, this is not actually a good thing. The cleansing stage of your routine will strip away all the oils and dirt build up on your face, but it will also take away all the natural oils leaving your skin extremely dry.
You need to add hydration back into your skin by moisturising with a moisturiser that is suitable for your skin tone. If you leave out this step you will encourage your skin to age much faster. Not only should you be applying moisturiser, but in the morning you should also always include SPF into your routine. This is because the sun can be so damaging to your skin and by preventing any sun damage now you allow for you skin to look more youthful in the longterm.
Always wash your face before bed
Sometimes after a long day of working hard, or even a long night out partying it up with your friends, that last thing you want to do is go to the bathroom to wash your face and go through a whole skincare routine but it is so important to do this.
Washing your face before bed is probably the most important time to wash your face because you don’t want to be transferring all of the dirt, sweat, and oils from the day onto your nice clean pillow. This is just asking for an acne breakout! It is also a good idea to wash your bedding at least once a week to ensure that you aren’t getting any breakout from it.
Don’t exfoliate too much
Exfoliating can make you feel like you are a skincare master. It leaves you skin feeling super soft and removes all the dead skin lying at the surface. You may be tempted to do this every day and make your skin feel baby smooth all the time but this can actually be very bad if you do it more than 3 times a week. Exfoliating too often can create micro tears on the skin leaving room for bacteria to infect it and eventually lead to more acne breakouts. The best outcome you will get from exfoliating is if you only make use of it 2 to 3 times a week, with breaks in between.
