This week’s two-game Big Sky Conference men’s basketball series between Montana and Montana State has been canceled due to a positive COVID-19 test within Montana’s program.
As a result, the games scheduled for Thursday in Missoula and Saturday in Bozeman will not be played. At this time, Big Sky Conference games that are canceled will not be rescheduled.
Entering the week, Montana was one of seven teams nationally who had not had a game altered due to COVID-19. The Brawl of the Wild series dates back to 1902 and had been played every season since 1944-45, and all but five seasons dating back to 1912. With 301 all-time meetings, the series is the fifth most-played rivalry in college basketball history.
The Lady Griz games vs. Montana State are still on as scheduled, with the two teams playing in Bozeman on Thursday (5 p.m.) and Missoula on Saturday (noon).
