The 22nd “Great Griz Encounter” – the annual meet-and-greet with the 2017 University of Montana football players and coaches – is set to once again take place in downtown Missoula’s Caras Park on Thursday, August 24.
The Great Griz Encounter is held in conjunction with the Missoula Downtown Association’s weekly “Downtown Tonight” event.
In addition to meeting the football team, fans will have the opportunity to meet Monte and the UM Spirit Squad.
The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with a musical performance by the band 406. Head coach Bob Stitt and the Grizzlies’ 2017 Honors Candidates will be introduced at 6:30 p.m. Griz players will then meet fans and sign posters until around 8:30 p.m.
Due to the large number of fans wishing to get autographs, there is a two-item limit.
Licensed vendors will also be on hand selling Grizzly merchandise and apparel, including the official T-shirt for the “WHITE OUT” season opener against Valparaiso on Sept. 2.
This year’s event is once again sponsored by the Providence St. Patrick Hospital.
