The Missoula City Band announces its summer series for 2016. For well over a hundred years, we have been playing fine band music for the public in our open-air concerts. We continue this grand tradition with renewed spirit.
Concerts are on each Wednesday evening at the Bonner Park Band Shell (corner of Ronald & Hastings Streets, in the University Area), at 8 pm; June 22 – August 10. This community service is provided by the generous support of the City of Missoula, many talented musicians and supporters, and YOU!
The music is great, the venue cool & sublime, the experience; part of what makes our Missoula such a wonderful place to be in the summer. Come and enjoy an evening of fine band music entertainment. You’ll be glad you did!

The Missoula City Band is without a doubt, the longest standing performing musical ensemble in Missoula, currently under the direction of Gary Gillett. Its rich history goes back through partnerships with the Elks and Eagles playing in an antiquated bandstand at the Courthouse Square. It’s Director Emeritus, Alex Stepanzopff, drove the group through thick and thin and whose name is synonymous with the City Band. Today the Band enjoys stable funding through the City, increased membership, a wonderful performance sight at Bonner Park, and accolades of their fine, entertaining programs.
This summer, look for us playing great band music each Wednesday at 8 pm at the Bonner Park Band Shell, from June 25 through August 6. Also, we are the ‘main show’ (aside from the spectacular fireworks!) at Southgate Mall’s 4th of July festivities. See you then.
