The Missoula Community Theatre is holding an open audition for actors, singers and dancers to play the roles in The Drowsy Chaperone. There are approximately 15-20 characters to be cast, and the audition will take place Sunday, November 22, at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts from 12:30-4:00 PM on the third floor. Please use the Main Street entrance.
This clever and hilarious spoof of musical comedies features an ensemble cast of men and women whose characters range in age from 20s to 60s. There may be an opportunity to share special skills such as acrobatics or juggling for some roles. The audition is open to ages 18 and older. No advance preparation is required. There are no roles for children.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a Tony Award-winning show about a man whose apartment transforms into a Broadway stage, as a musical comes to life in front of his eyes! The production will be directed by Joseph Martinez, MCT’s Artistic Director. Dr. David Cody, a faculty member of the UM School of Music, will provide music direction and Heather Adams of the Downtown Dance Collective will choreograph.
The performance dates are January 21-24 and 27-31, 2016. There will be some rehearsals over the holiday break. All performances will take place at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts.
