A youth organization seeks a therapist for in-home and out-patient care. Therapists may see children, youth, and young adults, and provide individual and family therapy. The reporter works weekends, holidays, nights, and additional hours during storms. This employee works alone without backup or supervision, must be able to deal with crisis situations and remain calm, and accept the pressure of multiple tasks, such as multiple phone lines ringing and several radio calls coming in simultaneously. A family advocate is needed to work with homeless and at-risk families to help them secure community services. The advocate works closely with schools, provides initial screening and assessment, develops personal and family-strengthening goals, maintains records and completes documentation, and assists parents in accessing services, among other duties. A bachelor’s degree in social work or human services and a year of experience is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience, including personal experience as a service recipient, is acceptable.
