On Friday, July 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Missoula Children’s Theatre is throwing a party for kids of ALL ages! This FREE celebration of children and the performing arts will feature raffle prizes, ice cream treats, courtesy of Cold Stone Creamery, and live music by one of Missoula’s most popular bands…the Whizpops!
The Missoula Children’s Theatre invites kids and their families to this exciting block party, which will be held on the Adams Street side of the MCT Center for the Performing Arts. Information will be shared about this year’s children’s season, which includes afterschool performing arts classes of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for grades 6-12; Go West for grades K-5 this fall; the world-premiere of The Snow Queen for grades K-12 in January/February, and the 2016 spring day camp of The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe for grades K-12.
There are a number of upcoming performances to be enjoyed by children and their families, too. The Next Step Prep students will present a free showcase performance on Thursday, July 30th, and the Performing Arts Camp (PAC) production of Booking it on Broadway will feature nearly 200 talented teens in live performances, August 13-15.
And if THAT’s not enough, a special presentation of Little Red and the Hoods this September will celebrate Arts in Education Week, with a cast of adults performing for children. The upcoming Missoula Community Theatre season productions of The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins have a number of roles that kids may audition for, as well. MCT truly has something for just about everyone’s taste this year.
Everyone’s invited to come and learn what’s happening this year, listen and dance to the family-friendly sounds of The Whizpops!, enjoy treats from Cold Stone Creamery, and meet new friends at MCT—where you belong!
