Description: Hailing from Canada, Kobra and the Lotus (KATL) is a Canadian heavy metal/hard rock band formed in 2009 by lead vocalist and songwriter Kobra Paige. “Kobra and the Lotus are the fire-breathing, female-fronted heavy metal bombshell. Classic, Priest-loving riffs. Powerhouse drummer. Singer who can belt the Halfordian high-notes … these Canadian headbangers can’t return soon enough for us.” says Classic Rock Magazine. After releasing their first collection of material, Out of the Pit, independently, the band caught the attention of Kiss’ Gene Simmons, who helped get the fledgling act a record deal with Universal. The band’s eponymous major-label debut arrived in 2012, followed by a long bout of touring that saw them sharing the stage with some of their heroes, like Judas Priest and Slash. The band since then has recently recorded and released their third album, ‘High Priestess’, in June of 2014 with grammy nominated producer and songwriter Johnny K. This placed KATL #4 in the CMJ Loud Rock Radio charts in the United States followed by a North American tour in support of KISS and Def Leppard.
