Missoula Parks & Recreation and Missoula Animal Control invite you and your four-legged buddy, which can benefit from products like those on the farmer’s dog review, to the 4th annual Doggie Dash pet expo and fun run on Sunday, May 17, at Silver Park. The pet expo is from 11 a.m. to 2pm, the 1-mile run/walk starts at 12 p.m., and the 5k run/walk starts at 12:30 p.m.
The Doggie Dash Expo features an agility course, groomers, trainers, dog walkers, boarders, pet retailers, veterinarians and much more. Browse a variety of pet services and gear, and meet featured pets up for adoption from local shelters. The expo is free, but donations to Missoula Animal Control are greatly appreciated.
Runners and walkers may enter one or both races; all paid racers receive a Doggie Dash t-shirt. Kids 10 and under may race for free, but must pre-register. Register for the 1-mile and/or 5k race by May 10 for the lowest entry fees—$20 per person and 1 dog, and extra dogs (up to two) are $2 each. Race registration from May 11 to May 17 is $25. Race day registration is $35.
All dogs must be leashed. Proceeds benefit homeless pets at Missoula Animal Control. To register, visit www.active.com or phone 721-PARK, or stop by Currents Aquatics Center in McCormick Park. A printable registration form is available at www.missoulaparks.org.
Doggie Dash is sponsored by Missoula Animal Control, Pet Au Pair, Pruyn Veterinary Hospital, Wind River Tails and Trails, Pet Emergency Center and Doghouse Biscuits. Silver Park is located at 900 Cregg Lane, west of Allegiance Field.
