Celebrate Earth Day with 6th Annual Superfun(d) 10k, 5k, or 1 Mile Fun Run

By HILLARY OGG

This time of year is one of my favorites for getting my run on.  The air is clean and new, the sun is shining more often, it’s getting lighter in the mornings (when I usually make time to run!) and races are starting to pop up everywhere on my calendar!

One of those upcoming races is Run Wild Missoula’s 6th annual Superfun(d) 10K, 5K, or 1 mile fun run, which is happening on Saturday April 19th.  This run is very cool because it was started six years ago by folks who wanted to celebrate Earth Day, the removal of the Milltown Dam, the rerouting of the river and the removal of toxic chemicals in the area.  Hello, awesome-reasons-to-organize-a-race!   This run is one of the only races I know that takes place in Bonner, MT – kinda nice to get out of town without having to go too far!

superfun(d) run missoula, MT1The Superfun(d) 1 mile fun run begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 5K and 10K, at 9:30 a.m.  All races start at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 8985 Hwy 200 East, in Bonner. Kindergartners through 8th graders run free!  The cost for 9th graders through adults is $20, or $18 for RWM members.  Online registration is open until 12 p.m., Friday April 18th.  Packet pickup and registration will be held Friday, April 18th, from 5 -7 p.m. in the basement of Runner’s Edge (304 N Higgins).  April 18th registration increases to $25, or $23 for RWM members.

If you can’t make packet pick up on Friday, come on down to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 19th, from 7:30 – 9 a.m. to get registered.  Race day registration is $25, or $23 for RWM members (1 mile fun run registration ends at 8:45 a.m.)
