The Missoula Community Theatre is holding auditions for the production of Lend Me A Tenor on Sunday, January 5th, 2014 at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts, from 12:30-5:00 p.m. Roles to be cast include 4 males and 4 females, age 18 and older. The performance dates are March 20-23 and 26-30, 2014.
In spite of the reference to a vocalist in the title, Lend Me A Tenor is a non-musical, full of buffoonery, backstage shenanigans and other ridiculous situations one would expect from a ‘farce.’ The show was written by Ken Ludwig, an American playwright, and it premiered in London’s West End in 1986. This fast-paced physical comedy has been nominated for and/or won numerous theatre awards, including a Tony nomination in 2010 for “Best Revival of a Play.”
The audition process at MCT involves reading from the script. There are no musical or dance numbers. No advance preparation is required. Please use the lobby entrance on the east side of the MCT Center for the Performing Arts, anytime between 12:30-5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5th. Lend Me a Tenor will be directed by Mr. TJ Charlson, who directed last season’s production of Steel Magnolias.
**To obtain a perusal script or ask questions about the auditions, please stop by MCT at 200 North Adams Street, or call 728-1911 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. MCT’s offices will be closed on December 25th and January 1st. Lend Me A Tenor is a production of the Missoula Community Theatre.
