Splash Montana, Parks and Recreation’s outdoor waterpark in Playfair Park, will open for the 2014 season on Saturday, June 8 from 11:30 a.m to 8 p.m. Call 542-WAVE or visit www.missoulaparks.org for hours of operation and weather updates.
Splash Montana has been a big hit since 2006 with both locals and tourists. Three water slides, a lazy river, the children’s water playground plus the Crazy Creek Café make Splash Montana an all-day destination for families. The Lake 50-meter pool has eight competition/lap lanes and adds nearly 12,300 square feet of water space to Splash Montana for competitive swimming, lap swimming, swim lessons, water polo, water volleyball and basketball. Both Missoula aquatics facilities are fully ADA-compliant and have a wheelchair lift and water wheelchair. Certified lifeguards, shaded lounge chairs and full-service locker rooms make Splash Montana a safe and fun way to cool off this summer.
Splash Montana offers family swim admission specials after 5 p.m. and great values at the Crazy Creek Café. Two party cabanas are available for rent and full birthday party menus are available. Splash Montana also offers group rates during regular hours, and is available for after-hours rentals.
Splash Montana also offers Learn to Swim classes for ages 6 months to 14 years, beginning June 10. Currents Aquatics Center in McCormick Park will continue to offer swim lessons for infants, toddlers, youth and adults and adult fitness classes (with evening and weekend options), plus recreational swim and lap swim.
Admission at Splash Montana is $3.75 for youth 11 and under, $4.25 for ages 12 to 17 and seniors ages 58 and up, and $6 for adults. City residents may purchase a CityCard resident discount card to qualify for a 20 percent discount on admission. Annual and seasonal passes and punch cards offer additional savings between 25 and 55 percent.
