Will Dogs Rule and Cats Drool? The Bidding War is ON at Humane Society of Western Montana So Jump In Now to Vote Early and Vote Often!
One year of bragging rights is up for auction at the Humane Society of Western Montana’s 16th Annual Ken Shughart Humanitarian Award & Dinner, Saturday, April 13, 5:30pm at the Doubletree Downtown Missoula.
Will Dogs Rule and Cats Drool? You can help determine the outcome by voting early with your donation dollars to help our tail-wagging, ball-chasing, river-swimming, front-door-answering team win.
If Dogs Rule by the end of the auction this Saturday night, the victory will be gloated on a giant billboard for all the land to see. Here’s a sneak peak at what it will look like:
Wait, come to think of it, Dogs are actually pretty drooly. As a matter of fact, they drool way more than Cats. Even more than Cats chattering about a buzzing fly on the other side of the window screen, or waiting with intense anticipation for one of those super, um, ‘fragrant’ little salmon treats.
Of course, we all know Missoula is a Dog Town. Right?! Come on, chant it with me as you click on this link that will take you to the Humane Society of Western Montana’s early donation voting site… “Dogs Rule. Cats Drool.”
In fact, I just checked over at the online Bidding War site and to my surprise, the Cats are actually winning at this point. By a lot.
So, team, we need to rally! This is going to take some doing. We need to step it up and get those donations in early so we have a running start at this thing by the time Saturday night rolls around. Even if you don’t live in Missoula, but you know in your heart that Dogs Rule, you can join in and help us win the Bidding War.
Otherwise, this is what will be staring us in the face all year, taunting us, reminding us of our drooliness.
Saturday night will offer many other fun things to enjoy and bid on besides billboard bragging rights. The evening will be a celebration in honor of this year’s recipient of the Ken Shughart Humanitarian Award, photographer Elizabeth Stone.
Elizabeth has been an active supporter of HSWM since the ‘90’s and is the creator of the famous and hugely popular Calendar Pets calendar. You will be able to bid on the chance for your pet to be on the cover of the 2014 calendar. Come out and celebrate Elizabeth’s achievements, talents, dedication, fun attitude and all that she does for the HSWM.
I’ve heard through the chain link that several special guests are expected to be there to join in the fun including several past Ken Shughart recipients; Mayor John Engen; and Peter, the pilot from Dog Is My Co-Pilot who flies the California Littles to Montana.
Some Humane Society alumni will be there dressed in coats and tails (long and short) to say hi and remind you how awesome it is to have an adopted pet in your life.
